Default Ahhhh, I wish that bills just disappeared sometimes.

Well today is August 1st and as per usual, we have bills to be paid. I already paid the cell phone bill well before this, so that was taken care of. I paid the cable/phone/internet ($125.90), utilities ($164.83) and the VISA ($172.00). I put $53 extra onto the VISA because the minimum we were paying wasn't covering the balance protection and retail interest charges (this is the VISA with the 19.75% AIR, so the $172 would cover the minimum they're asking for and the balance protection charge - that means we're up about $30 dollars on it).

There are some days I wish I could strangle DH.

I went to his bank account, looked at it, and realized that the bill I had wanted to pay out of it (his VISA card) wasn't possible. Don't get me wrong; we are nowheres close to being in OD. However, that's only because the house insurance ($50.79) and car insurance ($94.76) haven't been directly withdrawn yet. I was stumped at his student loan payment (which has been $25 for the longest time) because it was something like $29.09. I'm wondering if that's his last payment because when we got his tax statement at the start of the year, he has less than $200 on the loan amount. If it is, then thank goodness...there's $25 more that I can add to the debt snowball!

My account basically paid all the bills this month and the property tax bill hasn't come out yet, so I can't touch $105 of that money. We had really wanted to start a debt snowball this month on the Best Buy card but with that being $287.52 and August being one of our rough months, it's going to be tough.

I wish that my bills could be like that VISA commercial where someone shakes their VISA bill and all the balances go to zero. That would be fantastic.

DH gets paid August 7th and we have two bills coming out of that (the MDG and Mastercard) so hopefully we'll be better off. We're also getting back part of the $202 that we paid on Wednesday for DS #2 to get two fillings, but that's going right back into savings. My mother is coming to visit on the 12th (omg yay! ) and she's already said she's willing to help donate towards food, etc.

It is just super tough for us because we're trying to get the debt snowball going and the kids start school in August and September, plus both of them have birthdays then. We don't want to touch our EF at all (which we've decided will sit at $1000 between the two of us). I'm thinking that I'll have to put the $287.52 from the Best Buy debt onto that account in the midst of the month since DH's August 7th payday isn't going towards very many bills. I know September wil be a lot easier because some of the bills can wait until September 4th (the Shaw and Enmax bills are due after the 1st, but I paid them on the 1st just because I was paying 95% of the bills on the 1st of the month).

This doesn't get easier, does it?

Don't we all???? I feel your pain, it always seems like there is always something that needs to be paid. Lucky for me I don't have any little ones to worry about and even though we have monthly bills we don't have many.

I'm thinking this year grandma (meaning me) is going to be contributing to the whole school clothes thing...will take some pressure off my kids.
