Default wow, the budget really works

I just sat down and figured out our budget for the month and after everything is all paid up we'll have $835 in savings at the end of the month and thats with making 3 payments (july/aug and sept)on my car this month, mortgage, saving 1/2 for next months mortgage and a $300 food shopping allowance for the month. without a budget our grocery shopping is sporadic at best.

Wow...that's fantastic! Keep up the good work.

Now just follow the budget - that is when it gets hard.

BUT YOU CAN DO IT!!! Just remember that you have to report in here!

Funny how when you take control of your money, suddenly there seems like there's more of it, isn't it?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I also started to notice results in the first month. This is our third full month of budgeting and we already have $1300 in savings after only putting money into savings for two of those three months. You definitely do see it working when it's in black and white.

Isn't it a great feeling when you realize that you can pay your bills, eat and save money all at the same time? Keep your eye on the prize and you will be fine! Great job!

yes, I did one budget for our last payday at the end of july and that worked out pretty well, I actually still have some money in the bank and payday is tomorrow. So August will be the first full month and so far it looks really good. It's a good thing too because I'll be losing 8 hrs
a week on my paycheck after sept 1st.
