Default I think Cricketlegs' karma rubbed off on us...

I was talking to DH today about stuff and I mentioned that Cricketlegs' DH was getting a promotion. You know what he tells me?

"Well um, it looks like I may be getting one in September."

    "WHAT?!"

"Yeah, they want to make me the coordinator at work."

Now I have no earthly clue on what that would be, but if there's a pay raise included then I'll take it.

Then DH proceeded to tell me that he has no RRSP that he's putting into at work...just a Canada Pension Plan.

We'll see what he finds out about this new job title and if it carries anything really awesome with it. He already gets to bring home stuff they're otherwise throwing out (at least four microwaves so far and some canvas fabric, plus two awning screens and 5lbs of Bernard Callebaut chocolate - the chocolate is a long story).

    Great news!

    As for Karma....

It was bad here before it was good I gotta tell ya!

We thought dh was LOSING his job. One of his bosses had him do something that caused a stink.

So the meetings started and dh was worried so he was looking at counterman jobs at a $20,000 a year pay cut and we were about to pay $1250 cash for a car as we were losing the company truck and that means adding gas and insurance to a budget taking a $20,000 hit.

    The numbers, the budget, omgosh!

Then he got a call from another dealership at the same pay, with a company truck, and better salary so we would end up making more. It was a parts management job which is what dh does.

Then he gets offered the job he is NOW doing at the same pay but we were like--ugh is this a REAL job??? SO dh takes the new job and gives notice, meanwhile they fire the guy who has been trying to get my dh fired and ask Dean to stay but he decides on the new job at the other dealership. They ask dh to stay 2 weeks til they can find a replacement.

Then his current job counters with the new job (production manager)or stay parts manager and the pay raise and they will pay his insurance and he gets to keep his company truck.

So dh takes the offer and calls and tells other dealership he isn't going there after all.

Then we find out the guy who hired dh at the other dealership is being fired and replaced by the guy our dealership just fired and wanted to fire my dh!

God loves us is all I can say because we would be OUT OF A JOB instead of $15,000 ahead!

The guy who got fired doesn't like good people in management because he is weak and they make him look bad.

    whew!
The math never lies, budget in INK!

Yes, it does seem that good karma is going around as far as promotions and raises go, we are happy too.

Cricketlegs, whew! You guys really got lucky didn't you?! That is quite the story and I'm so happy you all made the right decision!

Ok, tell us, tell us, tell us (I'm chanting here) the chocolate story...

    Wow Cricketlegs,

I think I'd have lost my mind at that point. That's some pretty wicked stuff!

Ok so for the chocolate story:

DH is in freight forwarding and his main clients are RV dealerships. They get things on 53ft trailers and 47ft trailers and sea cans. These containers can also hold anything else and one of the clients they also ship for is Bernard Callebaut. Now, I'd never heard of it but I looked it up online and wow...it's some pricey chocolate. They do themed chocolate items and sell regular stuff, plus their specialty chocolate can have liquor or nuts in it:

    http://www.bernardcallebaut.com/users/folder.asp

    That's their website.

At Easter, they sell chocolate shaped like an egg with special chocolates inside. At Halloween, I imagine the same thing and for Christmas, they sell chocolate logs with a gold ribbon around it and on the inside, gold foil with all sorts of delicious chocolate in it. So anyways, DH tells me that they were offloading a pallet of this chocolate that's in boxes and someone crashed into the pallet knocking the boxes onto the floor. At that point, if the boxes are damaged at all they are put into hold and BC is contacted. They do some fancy stuff and then they let the employees at my DH's work take home what the company has paid for.

I got 5lbs of these little chocolate nuggets in a box one day when I was outside with one of the kids. Oooooh man...

It freezes so well and the chocolate is sooooooo smooth. I tried eating a Hershey bar after that and it makes Hershey chocolate taste really grainy.
