Awwww bummer man!
I owe $688 plus cents on dds college bill this semester. I was not about to take out an unsubsized(spelling) loan so I only took $4009 for the entire year.
My ex pays half the bill and the state pays a good chunk as dd is hearing impaired.
I have the money without getting in the EF but it is going to be tight this month.
Everything will be paid(most already has been, school shopping is done, groceries abound, debt snowball is on track, gas in my car, pet supplies bought, stockpile is in place, EF safe and sound and everything is fine but gosh---I hate to pay it lol!
Dh and I are starting a fund to put cash into an interest building account to pay off dds loans as the come due in 2011. We figure we should let our money work for us now to make extra to allow us to pay them off instead of paying monthly loans with interest. We also want to pay as we go from now on....
We also have another starting college this fall--Community with a scholarship so we want dd1 paid and done before we have to deal with dd2 at major university.
I want my money.....lol.The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

I'm sorry about the bill, but it sounds like you're in a good position with everything else right now.

You're not alone. I always hate letting go of extra money and stuff, especially when things are going so well and you're comfortable where you are. I admit it, I'm very stingy as it is. DH and I have our EF in place, a stockpile of a decent size, the school shopping is done and we're on a budget finally...but paying back the debts just leave me so apprehensive.

that's a big check to send off. You'll build it back up in no time.
It is what it is.

Just keep telling yourself, "it's only $688. It I had taken the loan I'd be paying $1,000" Maybe that's exaggerated, but focusing on how much I'm saving by paying cash up front helps it not hurt so much sometimes.
