Default If one more person in this house says they need money...VENT

    I am gonna loosssseeeee it!

I had extra expenses this month and yes they were budgeted and yes they did get paid and while I am not broke I sure am waiting for the 15th to roll around to finish up.

I still have to pay the electric bill, aol, kirby(don't ask dumb dumb dumb)dds tuition(unexpected but payable)dds cash back to college and her papergoods shopping, dhs allowance etc.

Even my slush fund is depleted.

I am waiting to see what dhs new salary checks are going to be with the new raise so I can finish this stuff up.

Everyone keeps needing things, gas money, trip money, gift for a wedding, blah blah blah.

I told dh I didn't want to have to try to find money for a wedding gift of someone I don't even know(he got me out of going to the wedding ty very much good man) but as a person who works for him he feels he needs to go.

I guess he could see the whites of my eyes rolling back in my head and said he would take it out of his allowance--good man, you may live another day.

Ever have a month like this? When will my stress level go down. It is all the school shopping, gas for school, tuition, high electric bill, type stuff that is getting to me.

LOL...yep. I have taken control of all the finances and the budget so even though my GF makes most of the money we pool it all together and I dictate what goes where. Today my DD6 was watching a youtube video with me..it was no knead bread and the guy says "so easy a 6 yr old can make it". of course my DD hears "a six yr old can do it" and she breaks out pen and paper and writes down the ingredients.

The bread is baked in a cast iron dutch oven so I tell DD sorry we dont have one and my gf says "we can go get one" I say "no we cant, we dont have any money..it's all budgeted out"

    both of them went "sigh..ok"

    LOL

the other day the gf asked me to pick a bag of ice and I said "sorry, we have no money"...LOL, she says "it's a bag of ICE...$1.50" and I said "yep and we dont have it sorry, refill the ice trays...free"...I'm such a PITA

It is all fine and dandy if it fits in the slush fund but hey when it is gone, it is GONE!

    when it rains, it pours.

mine tends to hit around the first of the year - holidays, birthdays, car insurance.

around Father's Day - shopped for two dads, and ended up w/a flat tire to replace, and a birthday.

I stay in budget, but my money sure goes quickly.

    Want vs Need
That was a hard lesson I learned.
Not only was it a hard lesson.. but I learned it the hard way too!

Put your foot down - 'I don't have the money'
easier said than done. I know, I know.

    Is it the 15th yet?

That kind of thing happens here too. Whenever there is a tight month (like this month for us), that is when everyone else "needs" something more. DD "needs" to go to her friend's birthday party (2 hours away), DH "needs" to take his vacation in a few weeks (says all the other weeks are filled already @@ - and he gets vacation pay in one lump sum earlier in the year)

We're having that same kind of month and work is slow to top it off and my husbands been sick quite a bit. Not a good combination. There will be more dues next month, especially with school, Girl Scouts and Awana's starting. I hope the 15th rolls around soon for you and everyone will quit bugging you for money.

Yup, I think most of us have months like that. Mine seem to come in the form of unexpected car repairs -said in a whisper, don't wanna bring any more on lol

We just hang in there and say "No" a whole lot more often. Sending you good calming vibes.

I am just stressing out and I really need to just find my happy place.

payday will be here on Friday.

Saturday I will make my deposit. I will do my math. I will pay my bills.

    Period.

I can not change what I owe. I can not change what we will make.

    It will all work out.

I am not giving out anymore money. I have nothing left I need to buy(well milk, bread, and eggs lol but I have some cash for that).

I know what is wrong with me--I want to know what dhs new check amounts will be and add that with the tuition bill I am just impatient.

We used to be that way and I'm afraid of it going back to that way when both kids get older. We went out and spent about $113 today on DS' birthday and that didn't need any justification. My mom spent money on him too. I told her while I was in line that after Dakota's birthday next month, I was putting away $20 per month per kid for birthdays into a slush fund. I admit I kicked myself in the butt because I didn't budget this in sooner, but I didn't think about a budget until May.

It's not so bad now that I took control of the finances, but I know it'll be creeping up on me sometime soon.

Step dd just texted me she needs $10 for gas to go job hunting tomorrow.

I wonder what happened to the $50 I just sent for black pants to go to the job training classes because she had gotten a job but had to go to 2 days of classes and black pants were required.

    I am not answering tonight....ugh!
