100% deductible? Isn't is that you get a certain % deducted from your taxes? So you really don't get to take the full amount off?
I keeep thinking about your eating-out bill for the month. Egads!! How about trying one or two new recipes a month...you'll still get a treat but spend tons less than you would going out.
Have you thought about doing a work-from-home thing to bring in more money for debt reduction? Several folks here are cha-cha guides, that is one idea to consider.
I do gotta say I agree with your saving for your son's college fund. When you are my age and your son is in college you will be so glad you saved up the money. On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

MrsMcd, I am not hijacking your thread! I promise.
I know I come off as a crazy woman about paying for my kids college and I know why MrsMcd wants to send her son to school.
You bring home a little tiny baby and it all about them. Then they grow and stretch out but still they are your baby and you do everything you can to keep them safe and happy.
Then they turn 18 and head for college and suddenly you are just to turn that off?
I have debt and I HATE IT and I am working hard to pay that debt off so why would I ever want my dds to be here. Starting life with debt?
I am not ready to just throw up my hands and say, oops sorry, not my problem.
Maybe Mrs Mcd feels the same. EVERY OPPURTUNITY offered.
I am so lucky to make it with dd in 4 years major university with loans at about $14,000 to $15,000.
That is why I want to pay the car and creditcard off ASAP so I can pay them before 1/1/2011 when they come due.
At this point I have zero idea what step dd #2 will look like. She has a 2 year scholarship and is living at home with her Mom. So far we have paid $400 but we did cash for that so no debt yet this semester. After that-we will see and then our last dd will go too.
I am working hard to be in position not to have to take loans on the others.
I figure loosly I can be debt free in 26 months if I stick to the plan.
So MrsMCD. Good luck with that college fund and be thankful you aren't 39 with two kids in college and another on the way to college, debt, and a measly $1000 EF!The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

Well, my first idea was to get rid of the GTO, but after reading that your dh served our country in Iraq, and it was something he really wanted and looked forwarded to when he came home, my goodness, he should keep it.

If we were in the red or unable to make ends meet, we would sell the GTO in a heartbeat. But we are able to make ends meet, with some excess without relying on the government or other's for help, so in the meantime, we scrimp a bit to pay the GTO off faster.
