I depeleted my EF today!
But, it's temporary.
Due to the fact that I forgot to budget my September bills, (have a plan now) I had several things coming due in the next week!
I paid the girls school fees yesterday, and the kids sport fees come due on the teh 31st, and I should get ds fees shortly.
I debated if I used the line of credit, or EF, it wasnt a huge emergency. Since I replenish over 1/2 of it tomorrow, and the rest on the 1st I chose the EF. I'll lose a couples days of interest paid to ME, not pay interest. It made more sense.
I now have set up an account with a direct transfer to budget my sept payments next year..lol. Lesson learned.
I did feel good to just write 1 check and pay fees and not some post dated ones to track. It's just DONE. I may do the same with dd4 dance. Write one check for full amount instead of monthly payments.

DOH! Ah well - temporary budget correction!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

DOH! Expresses it perfectly. Replenishing the EF is priority.
Know what I realized??? I have 3 checks waiting to be deposited! DOH...lol. Not enough to cover the shortfall, but definitely transfer to the ef and give it back $200!

Glad you were able to use the EF instead of credit cards, thus nothing lost nothing gained and you will be replenishing it shortly.

I'm still working on replenishing mine after we cleaned it out for the move. I've really cracked down on spending, so we should be back up to speed in no time.

That is the deal. You use the EF and then you PUT IT BACK ASAP.
Even if it means throwing yourself in front of the snowball to do it, the snowball will roll again after the Ef is replaced.
I may be a die hard but I started Septembers budget the 10th of August.
I hate surprises--esp. ones that have $$$ in front of them.
So many of my bills run the same basic amounts every month so I just round them up in the PROJECTED column. (I add the amount to see what bring home needs to be)Then when the bill comes in I put the actual amount of the bill in the ACTUAL column, finally I put the actual amount I paid in the PAID column and if it is debt or a payoff with a balance I put the balance in the BALANCE column so my budget pretty much sets itself up.
Gotta love the columner pad! My constant companion.
The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

To my mind this is what the EF is for, to stop you from using credit.
You'll pay it back quickly - I can tell by how upset you were to have to use it in the first place.Last edited by missmanny; 08-26-2008 at 06:13 PM.
