Good news...
For the past month or so I have been on hubby to get him to call to try and reduce our expenses on our CC and Phone/cable. Last night (finally) hubby called the CC and asked them to lower our interest rate. They dropped it by 3% which will save us $30 per month. I also got him to call the cable company. We are going to add the phone into our bundle package and that will save $25+ per month.
The best news of all is that hubby has a bonus program at work where if he earns a 100% on 4 consecutive tests he earns a bonus and the amount is according to his ranking.(bronze, silver, gold, or platinum)
Recently the computer system has his ranking being all messed up so we weren't sure what his ranking would be (should be platinum but the company has changed the requirements for this level), but just yesterday the rankings came out and he is at the highest (Platinum) which means he will be getting a $4,000 bonus. Best yet the money already hit his prepaid CC and hubby called to have the money transfered to our checking account. The money should be available early next week so we are able to pay off almost 1/2 of our balance.
If all goes as planned, we should be debt free except the house in March (July if we don't get our expected tax return)
I am so happy I could cry, it has been a hard 1.5 years trying to pay off everything and I never thought it would happen.~~~Lisa~~~

That's awesome! Congratulations! What a relief!!!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
