Not a big deal but....
My dh was in the hospital over news years for 3 days. We had about $18,000 of charges but insurance paid out well.
We ended up with about $2000 in hospital, doctor and lab bills to pay.
The hospital offered us a 60% deal after I had been making payments and that saved us about $400. All we had to do was pay $650 by the next month due date. We did that and saved the $400.
I then started making the hospital payment roll into the next larger bill(a medical DR snowball seperate from my debt snowball) and so forth but the entire time I made payments on every bill we had.
Monday I will mail off a check for $82.79. Our final payment of medical bills. I was paying $50 a month.
Now I can roll that $50 into my DEBT snowball or my savings account.
Feels good to see the medicals bills gone. The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

Hey now, don't short change yourself, that IS a big deal! I think it's very important to celebrate the "little" things along the way in debt reduction. Yeah it's not a whole house paid off, lol, but it's important nonetheless. The big deal is it's one more definite step to financial freedom, right? So make it a big deal for yourselves and celebrate the conquering of the dr bills, you deserve it. That's hard work right there!
