Default Some days it is just hard.

I was depressed yesterday. I am a little pre-menopausal and yesterday was NOT a good day.

I deposited my dhs check--$2725.00. paid the bills for that pay period, got the cash for cash budeted purchases and I have no money. It just goes so fast. Next paycheck-same story.

I swear sometimes I feel like I am one EF away from the poor house!

Gotta love the EF. The EF keeps me sane.

    This month I have 31 bills--31! Yes....31. $5000 gone!

The only thing that keeps me sane is that I have the EF, I pay a good amount extra on my debt, the bills are on time every month and my children are in college or I would just FREAK OUT!

Okay yesterday I did have a melt down.....stupid hormones.

Today I feel better and since I made my debt payments I am now 11 months from being cc debt free, 12 months from paying off the Kirby--boy oh boy oh boy, I love it but STUPID comes to mind, and 15 months from being car debt free.

Then I deal with dds student loans and we arecurrently making 0% payments on step dds car. I am not even ready to add them to my debt snowball line yet. I would be overwrought with stress so I just pay my minimums and when the dust settles on the others I will see my balances and roll my snowball.

I just need to look at the big picture and keep on going.

    I will shut up now.

I just felt the need to ramble and vent a little.

I will say this though--on the 12 when my payments go through I will feel much better because I will have much lower balances!

You are doing good - keep it up!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I feel the same, although I haven't been able to build my ef fund back up again. I am thinking about talking to DH about stopping contributions to his 401k just for a few months. We're young, and he's already got about 10k in there, so I don't think a few months will make that big of a deal. But I do think the extra couple hundred a paycheck will help us out a lot.

If you will give me the debt info (balances, interest rates and minimum payments) and the info on the contributions (how much per month), matching info (up to what %) and the performance data (longer term performance please - 5 and 10 yr rates of return) and your current amount saved per month (if any) I can work up a comparison on how you will fare if you stop contributions, build up the EF, pay off the debt, then put the full amt into 401k versus doing what you're doing now.

I started my new budget and snowball in March 2008 so I look forward to seeing then and now amounts.

Of course it was just a few months ago I had to "ask" dh for his cc so that number while it is getting better now, is NOT where it should have been without charges.

Live and learn and don't ever keep a cc in your purse or wallet--you WILL use it.

I know how you feel. I had grand plans of rapid debt reduction the beginning of the year, but I've had to change courses a bit. I have to remind myself of the progress we've made. We no longer have credit card debt, and we have much more than $1000 in savings. I can't help but get discouraged sometimes, because I am ready to be gazelle intense.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

I know just how you feel. I get so excited on payday then the next day when all the money is gone to bills, gas and groceries I feel so sad.

We all have those days. When I have them, I am glad that I can come here to vent to people who understand.

How old are you? (don't answer that on here)

I hit menopause early (at 37) and they put me on the pill. It is a lifesaver. Within a week, our household was nice and calm again. Apparently, according to everyone else in the house, I was really cranky and moody and difficult to live with.

You might want to talk to your doc about it when you go the next time.

Cricketlegs, you can only go one paycheck at a time - but with every paycheck the situation gets a little bit better.

You are winning the battles and eventaully you will win the war.

Keep plodding along - we all have bad days (hormone enduced - or not).

You are doing a great job.
