    Thumbs up ING Direct

I started an ING Direct account sometime in 2006 ( I think). I set it up to automatically deposit $10 a month into this account. ( That's all I could spare).

I had sort of forgotten about having this account knowing not much was going into it. Well, today I decide to check it. Imagine my surprise when I saw it had just over $250 in it! After the new year I'm going to up it to $20-25 monthly instead of $10.

What an easy way to save for me and it takes a couple days to transfer the money back into my checking so if I decide to 'dip' into it, it will make me think about any frivilous purchases.

Great job tucking that money away!!! That would be a great surprise to see that much. With you upping it to $25 in the new year just imagine how much faster it will add up when you take your next peek!! Good job

Isn't it great to find "forgotten" money? Even if it's $5 or $10, with compound interest, it starts to add up after a while. Keep up the good work!

That's the wonderful thing about ING! I started doing that earlier this year. I could spare $50 a paycheck, and being paid bi-weekly...that adds up fast! I'll need it too cuz the house needs a new roof in spring so that's probably what it'll go for.

I love ING too! I just opened a savings account with them recently. It gets 2.5% interest, which is TEN TIMES the amount that my local bank gives.

It took me literally five minutes to set up the account, and I love how easy it is to link it to my checking account. I highly recommend it!

If anyone needs the reference code for opening a new customer account and ING deposits $25 into your account just send me a private message and I'll send it to you.

    It expires 12/31/08.
Didn't see this being offered on the ING website.

This should have said, "has now been taken."
