I heard about this on the radio. Usually we only get a couple hundred dollars back from the state, but we also do our taxes ASAP as well, so hopefully we'll be okay.

This is one of the reasons you should never overpay on your taxes. I'm sorry to hear this is happening to those who live in CA

It's funny. Every year, I adjust my withholdings, and every year, I get a thousand or more (state and federal combined) back. I just can't seem to get it right.

I don't have a problem with the IOU, if it helps the state get back on track, provided the state HONOURS it at some point, even if it is through installments. I have a lot of friends who are state workers, and watching them get furloughed (and now being told that they are going to have to take every other Friday off with a loss of pay for that day) hasn't been fun.DH aka Mad Hen
