Default Relisting the house. Price down. California

I had my house listed in August for 165 here in Northern California. Smaller town.

My new agent just left. Listing for just over 140. Wow. What a mess and at that she's not sure what will happen.

My house has a lot of positives she said. Central heat/air only 5 years old. New water heater, dual pane windows. Light and bright and in good shape. Roof only 8 years old. Planned neighborhood/nice area.

Down side. The market and only two bedroom/two bath.

Please wish me luck. I'm going to need it. And I just want out. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

I'm seeing prices falling all over by me. Some are taking 20% off these days in order to sell quick.

Yes, there is not much I can do. I never refinanced and my mortgage is just under 80 so I should get my 20% deposit back and a little.

It will be like starting over in the housing market and I'm 48. I'll rent for a time. Probably a long time. I have no desire to own right now.

    Luckily many apartments take kitties.

    Thanks for your replies.

Look in the bright side, maybe potential buyers out there are now more interested in smaller houses with a more affordable price, instead of Mega-Mansions that cost a lot to keep up with. So your 2bd/2bath house will look more attractive than ever, perfect for a small family!!!

    Wishing you all the luck!

Here's hoping there is a bidding war & you get more than you think you will. At that lower price that's what I'm hoping will happen.

I'll wish you luck if you wish me luck... I live in Idaho and have had my house listed for about a month and a half...lots of lookers no offers yet. We listed and had lots of interest and then suddenly a builder in town who is trying to avoid bankruptcy is suddenly dumping all of his brand new homes in the same price range as my house. They are all a 1000 sq. feet smaller with no yards but people want new. As my realtor said when people "smell the new" they tend to let common sense fly out the door. Here's wishing both of us smooth quick sells!
