who would have thought - cleaning paid off!
I decided to give my house a thorough clean out this week end, because it was full of clutter and I knew I needed to clear out some of my things.
I am so glad I did – these are all of the things I found that are going to help me to fund my EF account
1. $12.50 in coins under the couch, in old hand bags etc
2. 2 receipts for doctors visits that I am eligible for a rebate for (total $57)
3. an assortment of items, un wanted Xmas presents, clothes I never wore but still have the tags on, furniture that we don’t need/have room for and some other miscellaneous things that I am in the process of listing on eBay and the classifieds. I am hopeful to raise about $500 from all of this stuff
4. A gift card for an assortment of stores to the value of $50 (when I checked which stores it was valid for one of them is the store that we buy our groceries from) so that will be used to pay for ½ of our groceries this pay period and the money I saved can go straight into the EF.
It took me a long time to go through everything but boy am I glad I did. Hopefully if my sales on Ebay go alright I will have a good chunk of change to put into the EF.
Ahhh now I just have to list everything and make my way to the medicare office to get my rebates.Debt 1 - Paid in Full (originally $750)

ncarr - there were plenty of dustbunnies as well!
It does feel good to have it tidied up and a big pile of things to sell/give to charities.Debt 1 - Paid in Full (originally $750)

That is so awesome! I have little change monkeys around my house that always seem to find the loose change and put it in their piggy bank, so we never have any loose change around!
I had $30 sitting on the counter waiting to be deposited into our savings, and my 7 year old, came waltzing into the kitchen and was like "Woo hoo, I found money...finder's keepers!" and was about ready to put it into his pocket!!!! I had to remind him that that rule only works with change!

That's always great to find stuff like that laying around. Kind of like finding a $20 bill in last year's winter coat.
