    Default mortgage inquiry *UPDATE*

    original post (july '08)
    [ame="http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1110527#post1110527"]mortgage inquiry - Frugal Village Forums[/ame]

    On tuesday we went to see someone about a general mortgage inquiry as a flat just up the street from us went up for sale at 55k - another flat on the same area is up for 78k. Bargin really, but it does need a little work doing, just mainly cleaning and new wallpaper maybe carpets. Only 1 major thing it needs is a new heating system and the boiler has been in there since it was built 30+ years so i would prefer to have a new boiler to be safe.

    so when we spoke to the guy he said that we had a good credit rating and low credit going out which made it easier getting a quote.

    We have basically been pre approved for a mortgage up to 60k, on the average income of 10500 a year each. it works out to be around 340 a month in payments. We havent confimed anything yet but it could be soon. We dont have to pay a deposit out of our own pockets either, they just knock more off the final price (it sounds funny but its all fine just very hard to explain) so the savings we have at the minute will help a lot in getting the palce up to scratch and there are also no moving costs to deal with either - i'll just cart everything up the street

    hope it all goes well
