    Default TurboTax Question

OK, I did figure out that I need to amend my 2007 return to not claim that money that is now reported on the 2008 1099-MISC (see previous post). So I went into TurboTax Deluxe 2007, started to amend the return, only to find out the amount I need to change is grayed out and won't let me touch it! The screen is "Report Your Income and Returns." The line is the first one, called "Income or Sales Not Reported on 1099." The old amount is there, grayed out, and I cannot change it to the new amended number. I tried going to the TurboTax Live Community, but no luck (the only guy who answered said it's not grayed out for him - gee thanks). Does anyone know what's going on?

    Thanks,
    Sara

Are you sure you mean 2007? I thought that once it sent a return, it locks down the file so nobody can mess with it. You might have to find some global "amend this return" function. Sorry, but it's not something I'm willing to experiment with on my own file. I hope someone here has the info you need.

Well, it has directions for amending your taxes. I am following them, but when I come to the number I need to change, it won't let me.
