DH hours are being cut back....
I have been paying off student loan debt at a steady rate and now we have been told that DH is being cut back to a 4 day week.... I am going to need major help with just staying on budget never mind paying off debt...
I am so discouraged...
at least he still has medical benefits... which we need for my daughter's diabetes supplies... I don't know how we could pay for those supplies if he didn't have benefits...
I am very worried..
anyways I will be here alot looking for help the next little while...
all I can think is Aw shucks not again.......

First off I am sorry this is happening to you.
If I were you I would look at getting rid of anything that is not essential. Cable, cell phone etc. Also see if you can cut back some on the groceries.
If you need immediate cash try having a garage sale.
Sending good thoughts

So sorry...
Glad you're keeping your medical benefits, though...
Can you sell stuff on craigslist or ebay? Maybe food from a food pantry to stretch what you have? Do you have a food stockpile?Kace - married to Dh 12 years

It's time to pick up a second job. If he has a bachelor's degree, sign up to substitute teach. Check out the temp agencies for office, manufacturing or laborer jobs. If you own a house and already have all the equipment, walk around the neighborhood and look for overgrown lawns, peeling paint, overflowing/hanging gutters, fallen tree limbs, etc. Lots of disabled people and retirees need yard help. Offer yourself at 1/2 the going rate and you will probably have some takers. Volunteer for a Habitat for Humanity house to learn some home building skills and maybe he can sell himself as a handyman or construction dude. When you are out doing errands, pick up applications for any jobs you see that hubby can do. Stay away from places wanting you to wear their expensive clothing, credit card offers and employee discounts (hardware, groceries or toiletries are really handy though). Delivering pizzas and newspapers can get you in trouble with your car insurance company and could result in being canceled.

I wish I could offer words of encouragement that are better than just saying "hang in there", but it's all I got!
Things will get better. And I know you've been having a tough time at home dealing with all the changes with your daughters health and everything. Maybe having your hubby home and extra day a week might take some of that stress off of you. He can help monitor her and you can get at least one good night's sleep each week!
I hope things look up for you soon. Try to keep a good attitude, it's tough to do, but it goes along way in these types of situations!

Thank-you everyone..
Thank-you for the suggestions... and I will appreciate having DH home a bit more to help with my daughter... I am still stressing about my daughter so much and now I have to be especially vigilant with our finances, too....
It is always something...

I'm sorry they're cutting his hours, but I'm glad you still have medical benefits.
