Amex is our next target!

Amex has been our backup and they wound up being our high ticket cc. We just paid off our highest interest card and had decided to target Amex next anyway.

But last week I was on the road. I carry 1 cc, and it's been the Amex card. I went to go rent a car to drive home and they declined the charge. The bill was current?

wtf?

Well, I guess Amex has decided that they don't want our business at all any more as they capped our account. That's fine, but they refused a charge BEFORE they'd told us that they were going to do this AND the account was current.

This happened last Friday.

Today, we got the email that told us they were going to do this, and they wanted to be sure we knew about it advance....

Pah.

So we'll get me a 2nd discover card as my only cc and get rid of my Amex card. Step 1, eliminate the $35 a year fee for the 2nd card. Step 2....

Bah! How irritating! I had JCPenny do that to me once. Have not shopped there since.

It's a pity that you *need* a CC to get a rental car or a hotel room these days.
