We opted out of American Greetings auto charge, $15 a year saved. (We used it once, two years ago).
I talked to American Express re cancelling my copy of our card, which will save us another $35 a year in fees.

I went home 2 weeks ago for a visit with my kids, my mom, and my 2 sisters, one I haven't seen in about 7 years. I learned how lucky I am to have my health and to have healthy kids. I visited a friend who has been my best friend for almost 40 years. In June she was diagnosed with MS, now she is in a wheelchair and has to use a walker to get around. On the other hand, in June my 83 year old aunt(my only aunt) had a major stroke. It hit the entire top of her brain according to 3 doctors. They said she should have been dead or at the very least paralyzed and unable to speak. They sent her a wheel chair and she sent it back. She has no paralysis, no troubled or slurred speech, she is alert and very much the aunt I've always known. She has defied all odds according to her doctors. Also my hubby is getting so much better at this Frugal way of life I would like us to live. He has several times stated we shouldn't buy something because that is just money we could put on CC bills or put in the savings. Miracles do happen

-I have put my van in the garage in order to save on gas and insurance. I took 450 (!) off my 6 month insurance bill by doing it, and I've saved a ton of gas and money by saving my errands up for the weekends. Life is much calmer now since I'm not planning outings during the week.
-School is starting soon and I'm really excited about it!
-My husband is home and attending a school that allows him to set his own hours. We live close to the building so he's usually here for all 3 meals.
-I only have 3 payments left on my car!
We bought the car in 2004 and traded in an upside down dodge truck, and so the loan amount and the payments were really high. It's going to free up a lot of money and bring me one step closer to closing up shop with a credit union I don't really care for.
