    dh and i just put our credit cards in the freezer! we both have bad self control when it comes to them..so this feels like a good first step to both of us on our way to becoming debt free... super excited!!

    I did this at the beginning as well - it is a good start - eventually you will get to the point where you really don't need them any more (even as a back up emergency fund) mine have long since been cut up.

    FFEF - Fully Funded with 6 months of expenses as of July 2009

    Hopefully, you won't have a break-in. Someone had their house broken into a few months ago -- maybe a year ago. That was the first place the thieves looked. Take the ice home and thaw it out and... party!

    I did the same thing with mine back in November. I finally got up the courage to cancel them all last month. Wow that felt so great! I haven't destroyed them yet.... still trying to think of an appropriate demise for them!
