Credit Card offer
I got a credit card offer from Master Card today. The annual fee was only $750 a year. I just had to send everything back to them with "Are you nuts?" in big black letters on the application. Who, or what I should say, do they thinik I am? Anyone else getting any rediculous offers?

What? You turned them down??? That's only about $2.00 a day! I can't believe it isn't worth it to you to spend $2.00 a day to improve your credit score!!!
Wait, what? Today ISN'T Opposite Day?
Oh.
Dang those CC people are scum!

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

That's ridicules! I don't get credit card offers anymore I called the toll free number that takes you off the list to get them sent to you. I have enough cards sitting in my safe collecting dust no need for anymore.

In their prepaid envelope of course. They're making plenty of money off people who don't read the details to afford to pay someone for opening and looking over the application that wasn't filled out.
Credit card companies are desperate. The more they try these shenanigans, though, the more desperate they're going to get, once people start reading the details and seeing how ridiculous they all are.

Yes I used their prepaid envelope so they can pay for it. I used to just throw these offers out but I started making them pay the postage several years ago. This is the first one I've had in about 8 months so I'm guessing they are on a mission now that the economy is starting to loosen up. I would have liked to be a little snottier to them but I'm sure Preston has the market on that.

Whenever I get a cc offer of any kind; I use their postage paid envelope and write take me off your mailing list and then highlight it and send it to them. They take me off so they don't have to keep paying for me to tell them.

Let's see...$750 will take care of my DH's meds for 6 months...food for 3 months...gas for the cars for a WHOLE year!
Yes. They are nuts. I like your response to them. If you don't mind, I think I'll use that with other things like car insurance stuff.
I LOVE sending weird coupons and other unsigned applications back to them in their prepaid envelopes. We don't get too many cc apps any more so I don't get to amuse myself.Projects in Progress: quilt, bathroom rugs, knitting dishcloths
Future Projects: finish baby doll (clothes & hair) for DGD, rag rug, table napkins
New Challenge for Myself: crochet items for the homeless

When I was on the road doing standup comedy I had a bit about doing things like this... but I suggested using all the unwanted fruitcakes you tend to get around christmas.
I actually got an offer from Discover this week, which I merely shredded and sent back to them... nothing too creative.. yet.
The last one a few years ago I did was first premier. I sent them used cat litter. I haven't heard from them since.

Story of my life. In 2007 we had 78000 worth of debt, and we climbed out under it, on top of paying for a surgery with cash, bought a house, had a foundation shift and $11000 in repairs later we are good to go.. then I hear the words "I'm pregnant!"

Gotta start doing that since I'm sick of getting these incessant applications that I have to shred and dispose of!
