    Default One of my favorite quotes about money...

    I like this sentiment and I used to try to fill the voids in my life with material possesions. But now that I own only basic needs I do not feel the emptiness I felt in the past and every day I am more and more at peace... anybody know who said it?

    My favorite comes from a meeting of St. Francis Xavier (I think) with a beggar in India who had nothing. When asked about it, the beggar replied: "When you have no possessions, your mind is free as well as your hands."

    Of course, that is fully true only if that state is chosen, so I suspect this was a wandering monastic he was talking with. I doubt any of us will ever live that radically, but it's a good reminder of how things can weigh us down.
