Default HELP!!! I'm addicted to paying bills!

    Help!!!!!

I am addicted to paying my bills!!!! Every day I get up and check my balances and make sure nothing is due. Every week I am counting down to payday -- to the MINUTE!!!! (which is 3:30am, Saturday morning every two weeks)

I have 13 days of boredom and one day of utter excitement.

When extra money shows up I put it in the bank and feed my addiction...

Sometimes I pull $1 from the emergency fund just so I can send a $1 payment toward a credit card!!!

IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME??!?!?!?!??!!? AM I ALONE??? ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE????

Story of my life. In 2007 we had 78000 worth of debt, and we climbed out under it, on top of paying for a surgery with cash, bought a house, had a foundation shift and $11000 in repairs later we are good to go.. then I hear the words "I'm pregnant!"

Preston, how long has this been going on? Do you think that you are more than an eager beaver to be in control of your finances?

Look at your results - you are a success!!

I really think that I should perhaps be more like you.

Perhaps you are anxious about something else in your life and it's manifesting itself here in something you can control.

I am really interested in hearing more about his!!

Well, personally I think it is an awesome addiction! At least you aren't addiction to wine, woman or weed, which would really make your bills go up!!! Congrats Preston! You are an inspiration to all of us.

I'm laughing... and totally on board with you.

I think if I hit refresh one more time on MyEbay, its going to tell me "you have money OCD, knock it off". Each time something sells, the debt goes down. Also, very excited about October. I get paid bi-weekly and October is THREE PAYCHECKS! oh so exciting (and already spent on paper).

I hear you on this one! I feel like I'm wishing my life away in 2 week segments! And that feeling when I wake on on payday and all of a sudden realize it's payday and I get to go pay bills.... It's kind of like waking up Christmas morning as a kid! I absolutely can't wait until this Friday.... the next bill I have will bite the dust - planning on paying it off in FULL.

I hear you! I'm not quite as extreme as you are, but I am happy when the bills come in and the money is sitting here waiting for them, I write out the check and mail it out the very next day. It's a good feeling to know your bills are paid!

Definitely not alone. I too can be very obsessive with my bank account to see when everything has cleared. I think that it is okay to be obsessed with paying your bills. If everyone did this, companies would have to find more creative ways to make extra cash because they wouldn't get interest, late fees, etc.
