    Default I just saved........

myself almost $70 every six months by doing the phone calls I hate.

I changed my car insurance. This is one investigation that I dislike very much......too many questions, takes too long...UGH...

I got caught in part of the AIG thing. I had AIG for car ins. and house. THEN they sold 'me' to 21st Century and Farmers bought out 21st. Well, I would have come full circle and I knew I wasn't going there again. (When I switched my house from Farmers to AIG....years ago.....I saved myself $500 a year! And got better coverage!! Yep....they were THAT HIGH!)

Had the bill already from 21 (and it had gone up $9) so had to quit procrastinating and make a choice for the car ins. Have until first of year for the house.

I am pretty pleased right now.....every buck helps! YIPPEE!!

    Good job
I did that not too long ago with our vehicle insurance.

I need to do a call real soon. Call the phone company verizon and see
what other promotions are available. If they try to raise the $$ on my package of phone, direct tv, and DSL again, I may threaten them with unbundling. I can drop my phone service down a notch if need be. I hate it when they think they got you over a barrel.

~WTG FF! Business calls are the worst for me. I hate being on the phone soooo much!
When I switched from AIG to Liberty Mutual last year I was actually about to say "Thanks anyway" when the rep gave me a quote since it was more than I was already paying. Then she clarified that it was for the year, not a six month term. Saved $650! Definitely worth the hassle!~

Hey LTD, I tried that with Comcast.....they said 'tough bounce'.......would like to go with qwest but haven't had too many good comments about it.

Thanks nuisance. Liberty is one call I didn't make but I will be making it in the future. I had put this off too long so had to make a choice yesterday......ended up going with Geico......but they couldn't do much good with the house. Sadly...only made about 3 calls....I hate this!

I really dislike making those types of calls, however I have been making a lot of them lately.
We are moving and needed to transfer and start services. I was doing OK until Qwest informed me that they can't provide us DSL at our new place (which is 6 blocks from where we live now). We had to scrabble to find internet serve (my DH needs it for work). We ended up having to call comcast. I really dislike cable companies. We did get a decent deal, but the DSL was cheaper.

Notice that no one is saying they like to make this type of call - me too. Then I started thinking about it - these calls should be about empowering to us - we are the customers spending our money. So when did it change that we shouldn't be treated courteously as if they didn't care if they had our business?

I offer this idea up to all of us - it's our money, it's our choice where we spend it. Be strong in our phone calls - no shame!!

Not exactly those words but offered NOTHING for a deal. I even mentioned that Qwest is running a special......and nothing. It is soooooo tempting to change but heard Qwest is slower.

I agree with you..........they DO need some competition. And as of next month their cable rate goes up AGAIN (but I don't have it)
