why all at once good and bad
dh has wanted a boat for years everytime we get the money something happens and we need that money.
so finally a great fishing boat, trailer, motor and trolling motor show up. $700 whoo hoo he says.
uh sorry no did you remember my income is down $400 a month and we have medical bills and he had car repairs he put on the credit card while I was off work.
One more kick in the teeth no boat I used part of his boat fund for HIS medical bills and the rest is now our baby emergency fund as the other one a good share had to be used while I was off work.
OH well another boat will show up another time pay the bills, save more money and find away to earn more money.Meg

The problem with down economic times is all the opportunities it presents are opportunities we can't afford.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Just be sure you're being fair to both of you! My best friend and her husband had a similar issue -- he wanted a 4-wheeler and one came up for sale. When she said no, that they didn't have the money, he pointed out that they certainly had had the money when she decided she wanted to go shopping in Maine with her mother and sisters! She felt awful, especially when she realized she'd spent twice what the wheeler cost. I'm not saying this is the case, but just be conscience of both parties.

I agree with Greebo. Lots of bargains and no money. Hopefully houses will still be down in three years when I can really afford one.

I just have to post an update. BonnetsM contacted us and her dh gave yes GAVE the boat to my dh. We had a lovely chat yesterday. I would so LOVE to live in thier town so charming. great family cute house and gotta love those chickens.
To bad they did not need a wood stove as it is still in MY way and now I have a boat in my driveway men and their projects.
K when he gets the boat rehabbed he will have to call and take your dh out on the river.
Thanks again...... and thanks for inspiring me to part with my extras and just give them so others can use them. Donating those cake pans to the church garage sale.Meg

You're most welcome! He came by this evening to pick it up. I meant to come back out and wave goodbye when he left, but there was a burning smell coming from the oven.
Turns out, I didn't poke one of the sweet potatoes enough before I put them in and it exploded. By the time I figured out what was burning, the kids said he had already left.
Enjoy the boat!
