How does the contract show payment be paid? For instance, our safe deposit box contract shows the date and the account number that we authorized them to withdrawal the funds from. We signed that paper. If we were to change the account, we would have to sign an addendum to the contract.
Was the account in question originally your husband's that you were added to later? I'm only asking because I am tryign to better understand what is going on. Legally, the bank has to be authorized to withdraw the funds before they can do so. I'd read over the contract you have pretty carefully and see what it says on the subject.McD

Well jeez, Palooka, I was under the impression you were wanting to get this auto-debit stopped and I was just trying to get some more information so I could help you out. Sorry for bothering you or trying to better understand the situation so I could offer some specific advice.

I'm sorry if you were just venting...but if you are paying in advance for the box, if you ask for it to be drilled and then you give it up, can you apply the $30 to the $100 it would cost to have it drilled. And yes, I think you should just cough up the money if you can because it seems to be entirely wasted money. You can't get into the box to use it even. How long are you going to pay for it? Do you think the key will turn up eventually??

At the end of the day when you agree to use someone elses property and you agree to return it in the condition in which you recieved it then yes, you do need to pay the money and give the box back to the bank in working order.
It is the right and the responsible thing to do.
If someone used your stuff and broke it you would want to be compensated. The bank is no different. The math never lies, budget in INK!
Amount of Free items 2012 $391.33

Debt #2 12/31/12 CC $901.88
Debt #3 12/31/12 $3648.83
Madness, mayhem chaos...my work here is done!

If it's any consolation, you're not alone. We have to make an appointment and pay a $150 drilling fee since my mom became forgetful and "misplaced" her keys.
It could always be worse....Last edited by wuvsnoopy; 10-29-2009 at 03:00 AM. Reason: Grammar change
