Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

If I add up all the points from the ones I have done in the last 3-5 years, I come up with 7.
5 from a balance transfer (but it will allow us to pay off 90% of the debt in a year)
2 have used the card a few times, not really in a pinch, but for an online order or two where the dispute process is more assured. Nothing emergency though - by pre-buying our propane for the entire year we saved roughly 50%, paid it off in two swipes @ 11.9%, first month was half the payment so interest "stupid tax" was minimized... and when I wanted to buy my wife a 10th anniversary present, it was an unplanned outing, I saw what I wanted, it was a Sunday of a weekend sale, my envelope was at home, and she was wandering elsewhere...like Mission Impossible, I had a very short amount of time to do my thang before she would find out...it was paid off so it doesn't really count.
Anyway, 7 total...I'm ok with that.
