    ~Go GO GO!!!
I was just planning next year's budget when I read your post. I'm increasing our EF in 2010 from a 6 month EF to a year's EF. I have a jump start because I'm rolling my "More Space Fund" of 2009 ($5K) into the EF.
I have $2400 to go, how about you?~

    Thanks everyone!

Nuisance~ sounds like you have a good plan!

We have a long way to go. We are under 3 months with our last BIG EF withdrawal. I will get back with an actual number after I do more math

????? for everyone though. When I figure EF I figure actual expenses not income.

Does everyone else include every expense category? I mean things you would cut in a layoff situation like clothing, school lunches, hunting, car repairs, home furnishing, fun $, pets, vacation etc?

If I look at just basic expenses without categories like the above I drops what we need monthly quite a chunk.

I currently have counted it all. How do you figure it?

First, good luck and god speed, baby!

I thought I saw this question elsewhere.. but here goes again.

You have to include a repair budget, and a sort of emergency/gift/ misc. category. Because hot water heaters still blow out, kids still grow, and relatives and friends still have birthdays, not to mention school trips etc. even when you're unemployed.

And you might just get picked for an ROAK swap

Your right I did ask the ? twice Thank you for letting me know your opinion. Since you are definitely in the know and doping so well with your situation. I 110% really respect and definably will use your opinion.

Did you get a ROAK? That is so fantastic!

It will take quite a while I think unless I pick up another PT job (which dh is against and good luck finding it) but we can do it!
