Default well I messed up royally

I have a Capital One card it is only 2.99 on the balance until paid so it has been the one I was not in a hurry to pay while I did other debts.

Well Oct 23 I wrote down on my chart I paid the bill due the 15th... I remember now there was a problem and I couldn't get it to post and I forgot to go back and worse forgot to erase it.

so my payment was late... a silly $10 minimum no doubt I have lost that special rate next month so I had better pay it off.

    What a stupid mistake.

I don't know that much about c/c companies, but could you phone the company and explain what happened and that you'll make sure it doesn't happen again? I'm sure you'll still have to pay the $10 minimum payment this month, but maybe next month they'll bump it back to the original payment. Worth looking into...

So the real balance is more than $2.99?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I believe she means the interest rate is 2.99%.

not THAT stupid $2.99 LOL actually the amount is down to $300 and yes I pay more than that $10 a month but only doing it $50 at a time guess it will be knocked off faster. I was going to cancel it anyway when it was done but still a REALLY stupid mistake to make.

No reason for it to have been late.

I had made an online payment to Capital One and because of the recent glitch with TD Bank it never went through. CO charged me $39 late fee. I called them and told them I was a good customer, never late and they credited the $39. Give them a call, worth a shot.

I'd definitely call them and try to have it waived. It can't hurt.
