Murphy is back...
Today I go get the mail and my dh managed to get 2 photo radar tickets in 1 day!!! Then the smoke detector starts going off after lunch. Funny smell and I think it is the dryer so we pull it out and clean all the vents. Turn it back on and everything seems fine. The smell is still there but not as bad so we think it will just dissipate slowly. A couple hours later it is starting to get a little chilly in the house(did I mention it is -40 outside), I check the thermostat the temp in here is at 55(set at 64). My dh checks the furnace, pilot light is on and it is trying to fire up but... Call the repair guy and our switch had shorted out. Which is what set the smoke detector off in the first place.
I have no babysitting kids for the next 4 weeks cause the mom finished her practicum early and is now on winter break. And hubby had a part time job lined up for a few hours a week but that fell through. So we now have $800 less this month than what we budgeted and an extra $400 in bills. Add that to the $700 we spent on the van recently and I think I could just about start screaming. AHHHHHHH!!!
OK rant over, now I am going to focus on how grateful I am that we have an emergency fund.

So today I took the $200 out of the EF to pay for the furnace. We have until the end of January to pay the tickets so I'm going to try and work them into the budget instead of using the EF.
I've been a little lax with the budget the last little while so this is giving me the kick in the butt to tighten up the belt.

When it rains it pours. And of course the electric is up too. Hope things look better soon. I know it stinks.

Please dont send him this way. I have tried screaming and it doesnt help. Seems here we kick him to the curb, and he turns around & finds someway to sneak back in.
Hope he leaves your house soon!Pine trees, with their needles pointing up to heaven, represent everlasting light and life.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

This morning I went on the computer and my keyboard had died on me. LOL!!! At least that one is relatively inexpensive. Hopefully Murphy will move out before he does anymore damage!!!!
