    Default Tax Rant

Property tax bill is due in a few weeks. The county had a "problem" and tax bills have not been sent as of 1/16/10. Will I get an extension? No. It is just ticking me off that they can be late and stress me out and I have no choice but to cough up the money on time.

Default that stuff happens all the time...

    depends on who you are...

chief of police goes to a bar and on his way home gets stopped for drunk driving....he gets away with it because the cop that gives him the ticket miraculously loses it somewhere and it can not be found..ummmm.....

I always pay mine online but check out the site and see if there is any info. I know here the penalty is not really much for being late and there has been times when ours was late.

    *curse property tax.

We can access our property taxes online too - good advice Palooka!! It is frustrating when we are at the beck and call of the vagaries of all levels of government - good luck!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

set up a freedom account/sinking fund with the taxes ready to go and it will reduce your stress level!
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

We could not even access them online because it was a delay in calculating the taxes. Until last week they had no idea.

We save for them but our house is new construction so the best we could do is estimate on other similar properties. I know it was a close enough estimate but I had to stress over something, lol.
