goodyear credit card closed notice
I got a notice today that my goodyear credit card account was being closed. I am okay with that cause I have been trying to pay it off and planned on closing it anyway. But since they did it, the notice says to not to use the account. Does that mean they don't want payment???? Since I have to access the account to pay them??? Does this mean I have to pay them the entire balance immediately?? The notice didn't have much information on it.
Please help me my FV family.
P.S. should I be upset this happened??

No, it's ok. This is happening more and more and more.
It just means the account is done. You can no longer charge on it. You must keep on paying the bill and you can continue to do so online. No, you don't have to pay it off at one time. The payment will continue to be what it was
The only thing that has changed is you can't charge on the card. It will be reported to the credit bureau as being closed.
Don't worry about it. You're fine.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Why is this happening more and more more???
Note: I haven't been using it. Could that be the reason?
They took away my pleasure of calling/writing them and closing it paid in full; when I got to that point.Step 1 $207/1500

Cause they don't care about you...period. The new laws take effect I believe Feb 22 and people that haven't already been dumped are getting dumped now.
Also if you haven't used it for a long time that is a good possibility of why it was canceled. They see you as a risk.
Don't worry. You did nothing wrong. Your credit will take a minor ding of a few points and go right back up before very long at all. You're better off without them.
If you have a Credit Card that you want to keep for whatever reason...charge $5 worth of gas on it and pay it off the following month. Inactivity will cause it to be cancelled. I had 5 cancelled in 2 months for not using them. It dosen't pay to be "good".Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. What's funny is that when I paid my Best Buy CC off-they keep sending me e-mails about how to check my credit score and such.
Before when I had a balance, the e-mails was nothing but promos to use my card in their store.
I guess I ticked them off. heh

You must have ticked them off, Palooka!! haha!! I can't be tempted to use that card. I better make a "car repair" envelope for the future unexpected challenges.

Yes, you are fine. I have a feeling I'll have a few of these closure letters for the credit lines I have that carry no balance come Feb. 22. They don't want customers that pay-in-full or only use credit occasionally. There's no profit in that.

that was a good article you posted. Thanks! I was hit with that increase in rate when I was late with a different bill. That's just wrong! I wonder what other tricks will be revealed.

One just lowered my limit so that if I'm late what with the interest and the late fee it will put it over the limit so that they can charge another 40-50 bucks on top of that.
