Default Who doesn't desire to be rich

My daughters dad is awesome with money but constantly talks about wanting to be rich! And he is frugal to the boot and has a ton. I mean a material ton. His house is the bomb...but it seems never good enough to him. The only person I know that takes four vacations a year, all out of state(and country too), owns a boat, lake lot, time shares, etc....Lives debt free but always wants more and more and nothing is good enough....

    That's just an example.

The only thing I desire is to be cozy in life and very comfy and nothing more. Sure I like nice cars, would be cool to have a house in the Hollywood Hills, or heck..just to tour it...

But what I never know/knew nor experience is something I'm not going to miss...

That's because when your whole goal in life is materialistic, you can never reach a satisfactory plateau. There's always gonna be "bigger and better". How CAN you possibly be satisfied??? Kwim?

As for me, I'd rather struggle and strive along side my hubby and kids than be in that position. Striving for "something", no matter how big or small, is a BIG chapter in a relationship. Don't get me wrong, I like nice things too, and I don't like to be flat broke, but I couldn't want that more than my happy marriage or happy family. Everyone knows "you can't buy happiness". I'd say your daughter's father is living proof of that!

It takes all kinds I guess

I'm not after rich. I just want enough put away so I'm not worried about meeting a bill or providing for my kids. Everything else is gravy.

I think rich is all in how you define it too. Rich to me would be having a house paid for, be set for retirement, own a shore house, being able to go on one vacation a year, not living pay check to pay check every again, and being able to help my daughter through college someday. If Hubby and I stay on course everything can be done except maybe that shore house.

This says it all for me also.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Yep, it would be in how one would define rich.

I say go for the shore house.

No desire to be rich. I grew up around rich people and would not want their troubles that seemed to go with it. If I could be rich "in hiding" I guess it would be nice to have the things I want when I want them. To not have money as a barrier to the things I want to do. But I do not want to display that I am wealthy.

Most of you probably know that my dh and I were sued for a horrible accident..beyond our insurance... and it was at this time that I realized that all the money that you acquire and all the things that you acquire..can be taken away from you in the blink of an eye...and what do you have left???? The important things...your family!!! Money is not the answer to finding happiness!! Unfortunately, some people never "get" this!!!

I don't want to be rich. I just want to own the planet.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I don't think I want to be rich, just enough so that the bills are paid and any future bills that will need paying and a little to take my grandchildren to places that I would like them to see and experience. I guess I could say I would like to be comfortable. I have seen enough rich people and they usually have a lot of problems whether it be mental, morally and the list could go on and on. Nope I would just rather be my own simple self with my wonderful husband, children, grandchildren and the rest of the family. I will count my blessings everyday to have just that.
