    Default Mint.com

Does any one use Mint.com? The first I heard of it was when I used Turbo Tax to file my taxes. I haven't spent much time looking but it appears it ties your bank accounts and all money accounts to one place and then next year when you file your taxes again on Turbo Tax you just import the info.

    any feedback?

We've looked into it, but NO ONE is getting access to our bank accounts if I can help it.

Yeah, DH refuses to use any online site that stores personal or financial data. That's just asking for something to happen.

I've used it for years with no problems. I LOVE that hey email me reminders of when bills are due, tell me when I'm over budget in a category and let me know how much finance charges I pay each month on my credit cards...which keeps me angry enough to keep me motivated to pay them off!

    Just my personal experience.

love it. I've used it for 3 years. I don't remember how I found it but I really like it. It makes figuring out a budget of what actually happened really easy.

so mixed reviews.....I can see both sides to it. If it makes things easier than I'm all for it, but yeah, giving a website all of your personal banking info is a bit scary.

I'll have to do a bit more reading about it when I get some time.

I've used Mint.com since they were just out in Beta version.

They're safe, I've never had any issues.

You can always try Budgetsimple.com - they don't use bank account info but you have to update everything yourself.

I've used it for over a year with no problems. It does help to keep me honest with my expenses and to track what I'm doing well or not. I like setting my budget at the beginning of the month and seeing how "life" really plays out compared to how I plan it.
The bad thing is our retirement investment is included in it and sometimes seeing the ups and downs can be scary. My DH loves to monitor that info daily but I prefer to look at the weekly summary that is sent to my email.

I looked at it a couple years ago, like a PP I couldn't get past giving out all my info. I know it's out there to be found somewhere, but I'm trying to keep as much as possible private.

I did some research and came up with an excel file that works for us. It has all our paychecks with all our bills lined up for the year, including our extra checks. I update the file daily (if needed) and my checkbook balances to the total shown.

    Works for us.

I'm trying budgetsimple.com - if nothing else DH is going to have a wonderful visual for a reality check.

What keeps an employee of Mint.com from going off the deep end and stealing all the information and using it for personal gain. I would check for lots of references before signing up. Identity theft is on the rise.

That does make you think. I have also wondered about the alarm system guys/gals. They would be the one person to know how to override the system and what you have in your house to take. It's not that I have much at all, but what I have is priceless.

What keeps an employee of your bank from swiping your name, address, social, dl number, and bank information?

We take risks everywhere, even by writing checks.

I trust the security of the site as its tied in with Turbo Tax.
