    Default which is better??

Is it better to close out an inactive credit card or to "file" the inactive card and risk a closure by the company in a few months?? Is there a difference on the credit score or would it be equal??

I think it was better to have the card issuer cancel the card due to inactivity vs you closing it which lowers your credit score but only temporarily. If you have a high'ish score, then this shouldn't be a huge worry?

Supposedly if the company closes the account it doesn't look as "good" as if you closed it yourself.

However, I'm done with credit cards and I tend to use them if they are still available so I'm closing the accounts immediately. I don't care about my credit card score right now as I'm just trying to overcome my bad habits.
