    Unhappy Can't seem to save for new glasses

    I am really struggling with only my Social Security check to save money for new glasses. I priced them today and it looks like nearly $400.00 for the exam and lenses and modest frames . At this rate it'll be Christmas before I get them !! Sorry for the rant !

    do the exam and take your Rx to zenni optical
    and get a 10.00 pair

    Hi,
    I would try to get another quote or two from other eye glass places.
    Maybe you can catch a sale. Get a copy of your prescription so you can shop around.

    My last pair of glasses I wore for 3 years. My recent pair last fall cost about $ 375 with the eye exam. And that was getting different quotes from her to bring the price down to where I finally got it. I really should have kept my old frames and used them, as I liked them better than this pair. Oh well, live and learn.....the school of hard knocks.

    We understand how you feel dh needs an eye test and new glasses as well ... everything seems to always come at once. We are looking at different ways to cut corners again and get on the wagon fully again. If you can get assistance to get them or find a cheaper temp pair that would really help!! Best of luck & hugs.

    If there is an eye care associates near you an exam there is less than $100. My daughter just had one yesterday. I know of several people that get their glasses from Zenni Optical
