Murphy's On His Way - Need Advice!
I have what is about to become a dental emergency (2 root canals) and on top of the dental work, I am high risk for dental anaesthetic, so they need to give me special drugs in order to complete the work.
Just the one root canal was quoted at $600, before the drugs, etc.
Here's my question: is it better to work out a payment plan with the dentist or put the whole amount on a cc and just add it to the amount I am trying to snowball?
Also to compound the whole thing (but not financially), I am TERRIFIED of the dentist!BEF: $$120/$1000

If the payment plan is no Interest obviously the dentist but check. A recent dentist we saw had payment plans which were a credit card and they were HUGE interest.

You'd have to compare the two interest rates. Any EF? This probably qualifies as an emergency. Can you pay some of the cost?

I recently went through 3 crowns and a cavity. I put it on a no interest for one year card (called care credit). After a year if it isn't paid off we will transfer to another card.....We are working hard to pay it off. It ended up being $1800. I had to use the laughing gas ea. time.....I have dental anxiety too.

Some good news...my dentist is going to refer me to the dental department at a local hospital because they are more familiar with my condition...I'm pretty sure that drungs administered in a hospital are covered by provincial health care, and I would just be on the hook for the dental fees.
Fingers crossed!BEF: $$120/$1000
