ING savings account
I was just about to open an ING savings accounts based on what Frugal Villagers have said about them.
However, just when I was about to type in my SS# I looked for the little security lock you usually see when typing in such information and there was none. I always make it a habit to check the stats on security and well, there just wasn't any little lock.
I don't just want to assume its a secure site.....what would you do?Judy

~Are you at ING Direct? I have an account there and the entire address bar turns green with a lock and a lock at the bottom of my window indicating secure when I'm using Explorer as my browser.
Here's the home page(it is not "secure" at this point because no information has been collected yet) Online Banking - ING DIRECT USA - Save Your Money!® ~~Constance

Not sure if this applies down in the US but in Canada you can open it via phone and confirm it by mail then open/add your online access at a later date.
Thats how I did mine.

Excellent! I just opened an account. this account will help me save my overtime before I spend it and any "extra" money at the end of the week. I expect to make many small deposits that will hopefully add up quickly and will be used for WHAT EVER I WANT!
Yeah!Judy

I love my ing accouts. I really like how you can open as many as you want with different catagories. Mine are regular savings, one for my hoa fees, dog shots and car registration, one that that extra money we are getting in our checks, one for birthday and holiday gifts, and one for taxes on my dh's freelance work. Sadly that one just got emptied and sent to the wonderful IRS.
