    Default Refinancing the house

    So...the paperwork is mostly done, we should close in mid May. We are getting 4.375 @ 15 years. We were at 6.375 for 30. We are 8 years into our current loan. Had the appraisel on Mon. and my banker called me today. I'm pretty happy with it. We basically have 100K equity. Our payment will stay virtually the same. I've been paying $X.XX extra towards principal for about a year, so I will continue do that with the new loan (again...payment will be the same) This should pay off at about 8.5 years, I had the bank do a full ammorization for me :-)

    Nice deal!
    Did you include an approximization of increases in the $X.XX amounts that you will be paying towards principal?

    Wouldn't be surprised if you end up having a paid for house a year or two earlier.
