Great job! I think a lot of people could follow your example to reduce the amount of trash that needs to go to a landfill. When you mentioned in the OP that as a single person you generate 1-2 large bags a week, I was thinking that that should be able to be reduced by at a large percentage, and you did it!
If we all seriously look at what we currently throw away, we can see that lots of "trash" can be recycled, composted, and/or given away instead of being thrown away. The landfill does not have to be the only answer.
And once you start looking at your waste with new eyes, then you can even start looking at what you bring into the house. Lots of extra packaging can be avoided by cooking more from scatch and shopping carefully (and less in general).
