Does anyone use 'upromise'?
How has your experience with it been? I've heard of it before, but just signed up and linked my 2 drug store cards....curious as to everyone's opinions on it, if they've used it.
If you haven't heard of it, it's a program that a certain % of certain purchases go into your fund to put into a 529 or get a check for the cash.

I use it. To me it is only worth it because I do survey's and that money gets put into my upromise account. If it wasn't for the survey's I would never make any money.

I have 2 kids acct. I make a few $$ from gas and have done fair w/ stock invest w/ the 529. Mostly I favor the auto w/d and the fact that it keeps the cash out our paws?

I just have my grocery cards signed up, I've added $15.87 in the last year or so just by using my cards. I just started using the e coupons, so I should start earning more. You just activate the coupons to your store card, then when you use it the amount of the coupons is added to your account.

I have, but I honestly don't get much out of it except for gas - I just changed my shopping habits and don't get as much as I used to. I have been a member since 2004 and only have $125 in there, and $50 was from my sister buying a life insurance policy.
But it is pretty easy and doesn't take any extra time past the signup.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

Khaski, aren't you in FL? I don't remember exactly...but, if you are, Publix participates in the upromise program. I haven't looked into it, but when BF and I get married/have kids/etc., I'll probably open an account...I suppose I could get a jump start on it now...hmmm, thanks for the inadvertent food for thought

I regularly checked the first few months and not a thing. Very much has an urban spender bias from what I saw. Haven't checked recently.

thanks for the input...I am not expecting anything grand from it, even $20 extra a year is a help though! I am in NH, no Publix round these parts, but i did link up my drug store and debit cards.

I find Upromise to be very confusing. I used to check my account and never had any money in it... but I did check yesterday and I have a few dollars - all from Mobil gas transactions in only the last two months.
I have not logged in or updated any info in almost a year - and have always occasionally got gas at Mobil so I have no idea why I am only earning money now, and why it's on on Mobil transactions!
How do you do survey's through Upromise?BS1: $1000/$1000
BS2:
CC: $0/ $15884
Other Debt: $0/2487
Car Loan: $0/11800
SLs: $20368/54031
Total Consumer Debt= $20,368/81825
Timeline:
10/09 - DH lost Job.
1/10 - spent 20k to finish DHs degree
4/10 - Found DR and got Gazelle Intense!!
1/11 - Paid off last CC!
2/11 - Downsized from 2400 to 600 sf!
10/11- Paid off car 3 yrs early!
1/12 - Paid off DH's Education!
Next Goal: Own My Degree!

Story of my life. In 2007 we had 78000 worth of debt, and we climbed out under it, on top of paying for a surgery with cash, bought a house, had a foundation shift and $11000 in repairs later we are good to go.. then I hear the words "I'm pregnant!"

It's honestly not something I would depend on. I've been signed up since 2002 and I've gotten $80 paid toward my student loan. That's it. And I had a ton of cc's and shoppers cards linked and even with family members the savings were tiny. But it was nice to have once student loan payment made, but beyond that has been kind of a waste of time.
I find it more efficient not to play the head games with myself trying to find ways to get the rebate.
