    Default Ing direct

I have been thinking of going with ING Direct.I see there was some talk on here about it back in 2008.
My question is, are you still with them and are you happy with them?
If I did go with them,it would be to put in a bit every month and leave it there, but if a big problem arose, and I needed it how do you get your money and how long does it take. Thanks

I have been with ING since 2006 and love it. You get a debit card, so you can take your money out immediately. Also, you can set up an electronic transfer to move your money from ING to another bank, but that typically takes 2 days.

I've used ING for savings. It's great because I don't have daily access to it - so I would highly recommend for 'savings'

It takes 2 -3 days to transfer to my bank.

I have no experience with checking accts.

We also had an ING CD for a few years. That went well also.

I did not get a debit card because I wanted to have to think about taking out money from my ING account. As has been said it takes two days to get funds from an ING account transferred to my bank. Am so glad that I opened my ING account - thanks to the discussions here!!

I've been with them over 2 years and I still love my ING accounts. I don't have a debit card, and it takes 2-3 days to receive funds in my local bank account.

Recently they had a promotion and I set up accounts for my kids.

I might also note that you can bill pay with ING. I use my ING checking for all my discretionary spending, so having access to the checking is important to me. I typically use my debit card rather than pulling out cash.

I also have the ING app on my iPhone, so I can move money around while on the go.

If you are looking at just savings, I would suggest getting the checking and savings, then keeping all your money in the savings. Keep the debit card somewhere you can get to it, if need be. ING will not pull money from your savings to cover your checking, so you can't use your savings money unless you manually transfer it over to checking.

Also, on the rare occasion that I have had to call them (lost my debit card once and wanted to ask a question about Sharebuilder once), they have been EXTREMELY professional and friendly. I usually HATE talking to banks, because they seem to act like you are interrupting their coffee break, but I have no problem calling ING.

I have had a savings for several years and it does take about 2 days to transfer. I just opened a checking with them and I have a debit card. I think transferring money from savings to checking is immediate within the ING savings and checking but from other banks it is 2 days. I have it and have no regrets at all. I also got a 50.00 bonus to open a checking. I opened a savings for my youngest dd and she received a 25.00 bonus.

I thought they were a pain to deal with. Hard to get money in and out, and I never got my sign-up bonus nor the bonuses for any of the people I referred to them. Any problems have to be solved over the phone, I called about my referral bonuses a couple times and was told it was fixed, but it never was.

Our regular bank came out with savings account that paid better interest so we switched it back.

I don't know if their Canadian operation has changed, but their was no debit card available when I was with them.

Which reminds me, they left about 4 dollars in my account after my final instruction to transfer the full balance out, I wonder if it's still there.

I have a savings with ING and love it! It takes roughly 2 business days to transfer money to my BOA checking account. I have only transferred money once.

I have had an account with them for several years. No trouble at all. Transfers take about 2 days.

Thanks for asking..........info that is good to know.

When I checked them over a year ago I could beat their interest rate so didn't do anything with them........will have to check it again.

I like that I am saving automatically - works best for me. Have transferred moneys only twice and was thankful I had the account!!
