    Our son will spend time with my parents in the summer while I'm at work...I'll drop him off in the morning and pick him up after work...

    It has helped me over the years to have both electrical and gas bills on a "budget plan" for billing. If you have time to call them up and see if they offer that it can take the guess-work out for those bills each month.

    I still have the natural gas on a budget amount and its only $41 a month, year-round, without worrying about that hike-up in the winter.

    2012 Grocery Budget Reduction Challenge- $100 a month. (down from $150) Hm, might be too low.
    Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)
