places to check for 'forgotten' money

I found money in my older brother's name. I am now the favorite sister.

So I called the number and it's a hundred bucks from AT&T(I know they owe me 50 from a rebate that I didn't receive a few years ago) and something about an electric bill. But...they said it would be a one time fee of 9.73 and they would send me the info to my e-mail to fill out and I also could search and find money for free for 5 other family members if I wanted.

Hmmm, it just sounds weird. I haven't done nothing yet.

I would do some digging or perhaps you can contact these companies DIRECTLY to get your refunds? Might skip the 'fee'. There's got to be a way for you to bet ahold of that $, without paying the fee!

Thanks for posting this, I had heard of it before but never checked it out...

Well, there's nothing for me, but for my hubby... there's two: one for 3.05 (don't think its worth trying to get) and one for over 200$ which is actually he current employer (?) very confusing why his current employer would owe him money, you think they would just, um, give it to him in his paycheck or whatever. He works for a very large, nationwide company.

ANYWAY, I'm kind of afraid to fill out the form - asking for the ssn, etc, just worried about identity theft, yes I'm paranoid, but I'm just worried about someone taking my hubby's social sec #, ugh, I guess I"m just venting...

When Dh got Ds and DD's phone he forgot to file for the rebate. So $100-our employee disc.($25.) was a $75. winfall this month.
We are aslo supposed to be getting my phone cost rebated $34.99 by check w/ in the month.

I will be saving $1000. on the house ins too. I upped our deductible to $500. from $250. and lowered the insured amt. 75,000 because the house value dropped $110,000. Lowest I can go and still keep my no penalty for claims policy.
