There went my plan to open savings accounts with ING. Sadly, ING seemed to be one of the few banks out there that were credible. I smell their quarterly earnings being flushed down the toilet now with this acquisition.

I saw the writing on the wall months ago. Interest rates started to tank and they started making themselves more appealing to "buyers" We closed our accounts not knowing who would be the takeover-ers.
We've since spread those accounts to more local banks...again.
    It is what it is.

I didn't have an account with ING yet--have my small BEF in a local Credit Union, which pays about nothing in interest. I was looking at ING and Ally for my fully funded EF. Has anyone else checked out Ally?

The only thing I know about Ally is that they're a division of ResMor Trust Company, who is my mortgage company. ResMor is the biggest PITA when it comes to mortgages, so I imagine they're the same with their other things.
