Unhappy What is up with Ebay sellers lately?

~We've only had about 5 problems ever in the 12 years I've been shopping and selling on Ebay and we were able to resolve those disputes directly with the sellers. Now suddenly in the last two months I've had to use their mediators 3 times for things we've bought(didn't receive one, one counterfeit video game and an incomplete order) and once for something I've sold. Finally got my first non-paying bidder after 100+ sales.
This week's irritation was a seller who sold me 100 of an item and sent me 50. They then claimed they listed the item in error and that I should return it at my expense for a full refund. What?! And this person had almost 40K feedback.
Luckily Ebay gave me a refund immediately but urg! What is up with people like that? Has anyone else had more trouble this year than before or is it just me?
After our home burglary in May and now this stuff I'm starting to get paranoid that everyone is out to cheat me. Ugh.~

I did bid on a tv series and paid for it right away like I always do and then ebay sent me a message not to deal with them and if I hadn't paid don't. Ebay still made me go through the whole process to credit me and they are the ones who knew the deal was bad. They never did tell me the problem.

I've started listing again. I have someone with feedback over 2500 who hasn't paid. I sent her a reminder invoice, I'm getting ready to file a non-paying bidder claim. I've been selling for years and years and this is only the 3rd time I've had to do that.

I know exactly what you mean. My son just bought a Flip video camera off of Ebay and we received an email shortly after from the seller stating that he had "good news and bad news"...The "bad news" was that he couldn't find the camera to ship it to my son, the "good news" was that he would refund the money. It's been 4 days and no refund yet. Makes me wonder if he ever had a camera to sell in the first place. I've sent him another email inquiring about the refund today, but haven't hear back yet. I guess my next step would be to go directly to Ebay with a complaint? (Have never had to do this before.)

~Yes Michelle, you can open a dispute case at this point. On your purchase page you'll see the item title you bought with a bunch of little icons($, shipped, feedback stars). At the end of the row it says More Actions. Clicking that will open a menu where you can choose "Resolve a problem".~

I have been mostly buying on eBay and never had a problem with getting my items however this month I won a DVD and paid right away. Now the time has passed as to when I should have recieved the item. I've emailed twice and no response from the seller so I gave them until the end of the week or I was going to eBay to file a complaint.

Same issue here, I received one game my son had waited patiently for, for a week he went to play it and it was scratched and would not work. (No refunds)

Paypal charged me double for a set of transactions, one seller was nice enough to bring it to my attention. They others would not reply to my e-mails. (I paid for 4 separate items and was charged double on all of them.)

I bought some summer clothes to go camping on June 24th and they were just shipped out yesterday. Already back from camping..

Stacia, even if the seller states 'no refunds' you could open a dispute with eBay because the product is defective and doesn't work! People can't sell items different than advertised/purchase and then just say 'nah nah, no refund'.
