2 month update I am seeing the light
I started to really buckle down with our money on June 1st. 2mths later and I have an update.
In June I had $150 in Savings, 5k on a CC (growing rapidly), and $560 on another.
I have been busy with work. I am self employed and my income varies and is not very dependable. When I do get paid, I pay off debt and myself.
I have:
1. $1300 EF
2. 5k CC PAID IN FULL.
3. $560 CC Paid in full
In case you all don't remember, I also cut a lot of spending out of the budget, things like got rid of home phone, knocked down our cell plan since we had 22k rollover minutes, changed cable and internet providers, started cutting the grass, started hanging laundry. List goes on.
My newest frugal venture is couponing. I am not going to hoard food or anything. I am couponing for toiletries and the healthy food we actually eat. I tried doing a $300 budget for a month for our family of 5 and I failed. I can't do it unless I use coupons and have a game plan. I did my first trip to walgreens using coupons and going off their weekend flyer to see what to buy. I did awesome! I stocked us up on items I use frequently, while saving 80%.
Next up is saving up to 2k. Then we have two cars and our Mortgage, then we are debt free. I am plugging away.
I know in Dec my husband gets his bonus and in Feb we get taxes. With that money we are putting towards my car. I currently owe 20k. I would love to have it paid off by the time we move next summer.
Thanks for listening!!

Congratulations you have done a fantastic job. That's an accomplishment you should pat yourself on the back for. That's a ton of debt paid off quickly.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.
