Default $4300 difference in expenses (in OUR favor).

So Dubya starts kindergarten on Monday. While the mom part of my brain is having anxiety issues over this, the rest of me is rejoicing over 9 months of NO DAYCARE COSTS FOR HIM.

Until I realized, I was going to have to shell out $300 a month for before/after care. We would still be saving $260 a month, but nowhere near what I had anticipated saving when Dubya started school.

Then, I got to talking to my neighbor (her son is also starting school). She's going to watch Dubya and transport him to/from for the low low price of $75. That's a savings of $485 A MONTH. FOR NINE MONTHS. That's approximately $4300.00

So what are we going to do with that extra that we hadn't planned on having? We are going to add it to our car payment and pay $800 every month instead of $375. And we will be paying our car off in 8 months...as opposed to paying it off in March 2013.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Saawweeeeeeeeeet!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

How great is that??!! And I agree with sinopa too. I doubt your neighbor is feeling bad about having a little extra cash either! Nice double hit there.

Your post was the 1st one I clicked on today. It's great to start my free time with such good news!
