~Just noticed that I didn't add an important detail to my "review". Last year I used TT Deluxe file by mistake. When I realized they were going to charge me when I qualified for the free file, I searched the site high and low for the free file tab. I was baffled and apparently there is a different link for the free service. Of course, they want you to upgrade so it was difficult to find. Finally I talked to customer service. They wiped off the charge. The deluxe is very nice and super fast! And you have to pay the $20 for Basic if you want them to transfer last year's info over to this year. You wouldn't have to do that this year obviously.
You can try it for free. You don't pay until you actually file. The questions the program asks you about your situations will find the deductions you qualify for. It makes a lot more sense than reading every IRS form and trying to figure it out yourself.
Also, check with your mortgage company, workplace, and club memberships for discounts on tax preparation services. My mortgage company gives us 25% off. ~

To add to nuisance26's review, I did want to add that the version I buy only comes with 1 "free" e-file. I usually use that for the Federal but refuse to pay the $15 or $20 to e-file for the state, so that one I just print out and mail in, since I can send it certified mail for $3-$4.
