Location, dh has an hour ride to work so the closer to the highway the better and we wanted to keep the girls in the same school district.

P.S. My dad was in the navy while I was growing up and I was bound and determined my girls would not be moved like I was.

Default For us school districts dictated more...

We knew our price range, knew we needed at least 4 bedrooms...and saw tons that fit both requirements. But when you start cutting it back to the school districts you find acceptable? We sucked it in and paid more. The kids are only going to have one shot at a good education. The stuff they are learning as a result of our house, area choice? Sacrifice some things to get the important things in life. No we don't live in the NEW section of our subdivision...but you still go to awesome schools!! No you each don't get your own rooms...GET A GRIP!!! LOL

BTW our house paymet is $1100 per month. In Michigan.

    OUCH!

In our current house it wise price first, then potential resale value or rental income..(I was 18 when we bought it) Location is right for resale and rental....we bought it in 95 for $50,000, refininced in 03 for $63,000 and it is on the market right now for $95,000 (we owe $59,000)

The new house.........LOCATION! DH has a heart condition that is agrevated by stress...we live in college central (5 min from Florida State University) and our new home (we are building) is in a 2 light town about 20 minutes from Tallahassee which coincidentlly has better schools than Tally. Then price....don't want to stress the checkbook if/when DH is forced into early retirement (because of the heart condition)

Both- cost wasn't as important to us as getting some land with our home.

Cost - wanted something we thought we could afford not what the bank thought - totally 2 different things. We are glad we went with what we were comfortable with.
